AU WORKSHOP
Welcome to Aeternas' AU Workshop! We're thrilled to have you here! On this post, players are encouraged to make connections and build their AUs together. While there is a cap of one character per player, you are allowed to workshop multiple characters and enable each other. For plot related reasons, all characters will be starting out in Mondstadt, this will be updated as the story progresses. For any extra information, you can check out the premise, locations, and power pages for a better understanding of the setting. As of now, only Mondstadt has a detailed description of locations- but you can assume that the businesses and other relevant locations in each nation is still there within the city (like Wanmin Restaurant for example, as this AU is modeled heavily after OU Teyvat.) These will be detailed later as we get further through the story, when characters finally travel to these nations.

Once an AU has been chosen, please create an information page with all the relevant AU info for your character along with permissions (or a link to an existing permissions post) on your journal. This will be asked for on the Taken page for a quick reference to your character's AU info. When you've finally decided on your AU, please comment to the Taken page so we can add you to the roster!

Please comment to the post with the form below and plot away! This post will remain permanent, so any new players that join after the initial opening are still welcome to use this. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the mod comment here!

AU Age: How old they will be in this AU.
Nation: Please state which of the currently released nations (Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine) your character is from!
Element: Out of the six elements (Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo) Select the one you want your character to be aligned with. You do not have to pick their canon element, feel free to switch if you wish! For more information on powers, please refer to the page here.
Constellation Location: Where your character's constellation will be! It can be located on any part of the body.
Weapon: Your character's starting weapon of choice! It's not limited to the five main weapons in Genshin, so feel free to get creative. If you're not sure, don't sweat it! Just put TBD. For more information on weapons, please refer to the page here.
AU Occupation: Describe what they do for a living! Your character's career path can be anything from a student, freelancer, in charge of their own business, etc. Please note that if you want to make your character famous (example: idol, singer, actor, etc) or be involved with/the head of a powerful organization within the world, let the head mod know. This is something that could potentially be incorporated into the story!

About: This is where you write a basic rundown of your character's AU. Feel free to talk about their backstory, any interesting facts about them, how they are different from their canon incarnation, what brought them to Mondstadt, anything you feel is relevant!
Looking for: Are you looking for pre-planned family, friends, classmates, roommates, rivals? Anything goes, so list your wishes and plot with others!

About: Bennett is a decently well-known travel vlogger who frequently posts videos of his travels all across Teyvat, showing off well-known and lesser-known spots alike, even managing to showcase some truly hidden gems. He carries a lot of passion for it despite the dangers of traveling all over the world and genuinely loves doing it. He's known for being positive and upbeat, and has a small team that helps him with his content (which may or may not be some combination of Fischl, Razor, and Barbara).

Unfortunately for Bennett, what's made his videos popular isn't the sights he shares, but the misfortunes that seem to follow him in almost every video, getting himself into frequent accidents and mishaps. These incidents have attracted a lot of attention to his videos, giving him a reputation as the Unlucky Adventurer. He doesn't mind that this is what he's become known for, but it does bum him out a little when he manages to run into a fan of his content and they tell him how their favorite video is the time he got struck by lightning or fell into quicksand or got snatched up by a giant bird and whisked away, instead of the many awesome places he's been to.

I can offer one idol girl as one of Benny's actual fans! Like out of the blue, Yoimiya stumbled across one of his trending vids BECAME CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY but stayed for his bright personality and the awesome travel content.

She would love to chat with him about his cool journeys one day! She doesn't get to do much personal traveling outside of idol work so pls tell her about all the awesome things you come across, Bennett 🥺

Oh Bennett would be so flattered and also baffled by Yoimiya actually being a fan of his. He'd definitely be familiar with her content because he's friends with Barbara who is definitely some level of idol herself in this AU so he probably knows more about idols than he'd ever planned to know. Yoimiya is definitely someone who's on his radar.

He'd gladly chat her ear off about everything he's done, he doesn't get many opportunities to actually do so.

awww Benny don't be baffled you are just that AWESOME. Maybe we can say that Barbara helped bridge a connection between the two of them? Yoimiya finds out they are friends and asks her fellow idol to introduce them because she's always wanted to talk to Bennett in person.

Diluc has absolutely seen a couple of his vlogs, and he is Concerned that this boy is going to kill himself. :( What if he's stepped in to save Benny from something or other (under the guise of Darknight Hero, of course)?

Don't worry, Diluc, he won't die that easily! Or at all. But that sounds fun, I'd love Darknight Hero quietly looking out for him. Did you have any preferences on the sort of thing he'd rescue him from? Are you thinking more of a big monster attack, or more along the lines of some sort of accident?

I also can't decide whether Benny's videos getting interrupted by Darknight Hero would end up unpopular because there's no accident, or even more popular because there is a mysterious hero in them.
